Whats up? ok, I have my bov recirculating, I wanted to vent it to the atmosphere, i know if i get a gm 3in maf and the 2g maf translator connect them both i can vent to atmosphere, but does the maf go between the bov and the intake manifold or between the bov and the intercooler? also my stock maf by my air filter, what do i do with that? just hollow it out for better flow? also from what kind of gm can this 3in maf come out of? I can get a gm maf cheap so wanted to know exact car amd model... thanks

It must be after the BOV, so between the BOV and the Throttle Body. You can get rid of your stock MAF. Just use an intake tube and filter. There are a ton of cars that use the appropriate filter. If you search you should find the list.

you can get your 3 inch maf from a 6 or 8 cyl gm 96 and up grand am have them you can find alot of these if they have a 3.1 or 3.4 you can find these all over junkyards i picked up 10 of these the other day for 8 dollars a piece hope that helps

thanks guys... all i need is a couple of couplers and im good to roll... this doesnt have an effect since i have my safc installed right?

cyoung0412 ...are you willing to sell any of those 8 3" gm maf for a reasonable price? got a translator...need a gm maf!!

hey the thing is my car is tuned right now and my safc is installed.... after doing the maf translator and the mas gm, if i zeroed that out. do i have to retune? or im good?

After you install it check your fuel trims and fine tune if necessary, but I think it should be fine as is because your just relocating the maf.

Your not just relocating the maf you putting a piggyback on to control the maf since the stock ecu can not recognize it. Now since the piggyback comes with its own settings such as what size and type of maf your using its going to have its own settings that your going to have to tune for. This setup requires a lot of tuning, I just did this to my car. I ended up having to get a chip from keydiver and i would strongly suggest that to get everything right, Jeff is a great guy and can burn you a chip for your setup alone. Make sure you have everything to do this swap before you get started an dont be scared if your car doesnt start when you plug the maft in because your going to have to make some adjustments when you get it all hooked up. good luck let me know if you need some help I'll be around. Also look at ebay for a maf I got mine for 30 dollars I got a little lucky though they range from 50- 100.

Yes, you will probably want to retune. The MAFT does a decent job at approximating the injector size/maf signal, but it's not perfect. I've read about people putting it in with stock 450's and having to adjust it up or down to perhaps 400 - 500cc.

It depends on which translator your going to be using, if its the gen II than you have to adjust low, mid and high fuel trims and theres many different load points and many many more options, it can be a handful if you don't know how to tune. If its the gen one all you have to do is click a few knobs to get it to certain injectors sizes. The gen II doesn't have selectable injector sizes they expect you to know how much fuel to add to certain load points along with your main scale and advanced spark settings. It's a newer product and can really be a chore to find someone who knows how to use it (Gen II). Also, the gen II does NOT correct itself which is why I went with the keydiver chip, It was pulling a crap load of timing and knocking like crazy on mine. Make sure you have a data logger (I forgot to look at your profile) because I can almost guarantee your going to knock like cazy. If you do take it easy and don't boost until you can find someone to tune for you or get a keydiver chip.
