Boosting problems..

check for possible sticking wastegate that won't close completely. I am not sure what kind of wastegate u got
 
So a few days ago i decided to take put my boost controller on and do some street tuning. Hooked it up and everything worked great. So the next day i took it to get some tuning done and we start off.. Seems like the turbo spools really slow. Turn the boost up and it doesnt even move. Only builds 11psi by redline. So i mess around with it for a few and nothing. Next day i go over everything no leaks nothing... Take it for a ride same thing. Couple hours later start it up and take off. Builds boost like a champ. Then as the car warms up it starts doing it again. Today it was working fine for most of the day then it stopped. I dont know what could be wrong. I thought maybe a vac line collapsing when it warmed up but i changed all the lines. Could my wastegate be slightly stuck open? All mods are in my profile.

If it's a ball and spring MBC, make sure you A) have the in/out hooked up correctly and that B) you have it connected from the compressor to the WGA, not the BOV. Tightening the spring preload on most MBCs increases boost. Start with it loosened and make sure you only build ~11psi boost (that's the lowest you can get). Tighten it a turn and do another pull monitoring your boost gauge (aftermarket, not stock). Keep doing this until the stable boost (not spikes) settles above 11psi. Then try smaller increments until you get a feel for how much boost increase you get for a certain amount of MBC adjustment.
 
Do you think it would help if i ran a vac line to the port on top of the waste gate also? I only have the side one connected.
 
what u put in washers for? did you just put on block off plate in place of wastegate?

It sounds like u might have other issues beside the turbo if its hesitating like possible misfire or detonation. Did you check for any knock readings, do you at least have some kind of scanner or link to see what the engine is doing.
 
I put in washers to make the spring stiffer. We had a logger on and everything was fine besides it wasnt boosting like it should..
 
try unpluggin the vacuum line to the wastegate and use your foot as boost controller. See if will boost right away or overboost slightly. If it doesn't, then I would assume the wastegate isn't sealing properly or the turbo has problems.
 
It was just a suggestion. My dodge ram ran like SHHIIIIT like he's been describing...with a faulty fuel filter. Two TOTALLY different cars. Figured its cheap so why not keep up with maintenance while trying to fix a problem. Its like changing plugs for the sake of ruling them out. If it works then grand. If not, thats one less thing to worry about.

I'm honestly out of ideas unless the cars right in front of me...

Speaking of plugs...take a look at your plugs and tell us what color they are...
