High knock counts. Need help.

Im getting some crazy knock here, up to 40. This just started not much ago. I can see up to 40 counts of knock, just sitting in a place, and reving the engine to 3000-4000. If i rev slowly the car doesn´t show any knock, but if i hammer the gas pedal, then the knock comes up. I think this is harming me, because timing is being pulled, and whenever knock comes up, my car feels, like being held back, i can hear the turbo spool, but the car doesn´t go anywhere, it stays in the same place. What could cause this unusual behavior?
Im using a walbro 190, 550cc injectors, with no fuel control. Safc would be here soon, however, i didn´t have any knock issues without the safc before. I checked the knock sensor as well, and didn´t feel any goo coming out from it. Any suggestions? thanks in advance :thumb:
 
My boost is at 12 Psi steady. i Don´t think it would be fuel cut, because im not hitting any brick wall. When it knock and im driving, i can feel the car hesistating, but i think its because of the timing being pulled. Even if im just parked, i rev the engine, knock counts would come up, by 20, 30, etc. It could be a deffective knock sensor, or possibly the sensor is hearing some noise, coming from somewhere. i heard, that when the knock sensor goes bad, it just goes into limp mode, to 9 counts and thats it. any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :thumb:
 
Check your knock sensor for any "goo" coming out of it. Thats usually a sign its going out.
 
First off, with a walbro 190 and 550's with no fuel control, you'll be running rich, no questions asked. That's something you need to fix asap and it's good that you have the afc coming.

Are your lifters ticking? Mine would do it so bad at one point that I would pick up knock while idleing! This is something that happens especially in the colder months. Only real remedy for that though would be to get revised lifters.

Get the afc though, hook that up, data log and tune accordingly and get back to us. As others have said, it might also be a faulty knock sensor.
