Does the vented bov feature on the new neo's actually work?

I am curious if the feature on the new safc neo's work, it says you can vent your bov or run hot wire setups and not encounter any problems. I am just curious if anyone can confirm that this works or if it is as inaffective as the safc's knock sensor wire.

Maybe it uses a secondary, mini-MAS on the BOV outlet that counts how much air is lost when the BOV vents, then adjusts the fuel injectors to compensate. Mini-MAS requires special adapters for BOV's that vent all around the body, i.e. Tial. Patent pending, all rights reserved.

Just kidding.

Couldn't it use a boost connection to extrapolate (interpolate?) the difference in airflow via crude speed/density tuning and momentarily switch values to switch the ecu map? Granted there would have to be a learning curve and I would hope it at least wired into the stock O2 sensor..... I'm going to the site to see what Apexi says.

Ok, I was thinking too hard last time.
According to the online installation guide the neo just looks for throttle voltage to drop below a level set by the user.
When it (throttle voltage) does and the Airflow meter voltage is obviously going to cause the mixture to go rich and cause a stall, it(neo) just disrupts the Airflow meter voltage with a curve that would be correct for closed throttle.

As far as whether or not it works I couldn't say, but in theory it should work. At least as long as the neo is "smart" enough.

The wonderfully translated explanation is on page 23 of the installation manual available on Apexi.com

I would really love to see how they pull that off.
Me to, it seemed almost to good to be true and from the responses I can say that it is. I guess I will stick with my safc2 and not opt out for a neo because of the pretty colors.ROFL

What is so good about venting?

Oh nothing, its just that I have seen people around here pay 400 dollars for maft and etc just to vent, sad plus I must admit I have a little ricer in me and I love that pshhhh sound.:coy:

Tell you what, if you've got the cash try the neo out WITH a logger to tell us all if it can really do the dang thing.:thumb: Thats really the only way to know.
