i know everyone will say this is my fault. i have a 1.8 4g37 out of a 93 talon. i wrecked my talon. so i bought a 1990 1.8 eclipse with a blown motor, swapped the motor. i think i read somewhere putting a newer 4g37 in an older body was something of a performance mod? anyways, i did the swap evrything went fine. i ran off the road one day and went into a field, and my exhaust fell off. like right at the beggining of the flex pipe it dropped off. so i figured screw it it's loud as crap now i like it. drove it for 2 weeks, and its started burning oil BAD. like when i went full throtle, i had a smokebomb behind me. 10 minutes later it sputtered and quit on me. i let it sit for a while and got it home. when i got home my front end on the drivers side was COVERED in oil. bumper, headlight, corner light, everything on my side in oil, so i left it sit. i figure the motor is blown from no exhaust it burnt the valves real bad. what should i do? if i get a new motor i figure ill get a rebuild from autozone or something. are autozone motors any good? i have 2 trannys so i dont wanna get rid of the 1.8. maybe even advanced auto? any input on this would be greatly appreciated. i was thinking a rebuild kit, get the head ported and polished and a few buddys on a boring weekend too, im just worried the block is cracked or something. are there any SOHC head that will bolt up that are 12 or 16 valve? one more thing, do 2.0T manifolds fit on 1.8 blocks? cause if i get a rebuild i might try that and try for some good HP gain.
on a diffrent note, do Conquest TSi trans blot up to 4g63's? my friend is looking to convert his AWD to pure RWD and doesn't know is they bolt up
thanks
Kenny
