hey guys Im a newbie when it comes to power and i need some! Alright i have a conv. gst! I want 300whp daily driver and i have stocky snail with full exhaust from downpipe back, Greddy bov and aftermarket side mount piping the problem is that I make 14 pounds on my gauge but only at about 100mph. Should i tighten the bov would that help to keep boost up from start to finish? also the manual boost controller does it just hook up to the waste actualor and boost sourse and i can turn it up and make real power or what this shit is so tricky to me, also I have a safc not hooked up would that make a big difference if I got theEvo 3 big 16g and whats with the t3t4 do you need internals for that whats better:beatentodeath: please help thanks!

Whoa dude. Calm down a second. It sounds like your mind is going 100 mph.

A 300whp everyday driver gst is very attainable, you just have to have the money, the know how, and the time. Or pay someone to do your work.

You need to do alot of research, but I can give you a little advice to get you started in the right direction.

Fuel system:
1. High flow fuel rail (AEM)
2. Bigger injectors (Maybe 660cc)
3. Bigger fuel pump (Whalboro 255lph)

Turbo:
There are alot of options here, for the price and horsepower you're looking to get, the EVO3 Big 16G would work.

You should also look into doing some type of tuning system, maf translator pro, or dsmlink or something like that.

Of course, you can also look at the tech/diy tab in the upper left corner. It'll guide you through some performance steps.

Your first choice for an upgrade is completely unnecessary. A stock fuel rail will feed a 500whp car. The injectors I agree with, but absolutely nothing bigger with the afc you have or your timing will be too high. I agree with a larger fuel pump, but if 300whp is your final goal, I would recommend the Walbro 190. With the 255 you will also need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to keep from over-running the stock fpr. An evo3 is a perfect choice at this power level and easily achieved with a fairly conservative tune. I would also suggest a front mount intercooler or water injection.

I agree with jking29 about the fuel mods and turbo recommendation.
It will help us if you fill out your vehicle profile info.
As for the BOV, be careful about over tightening it, this can cause compressor surge. Generally speaking you want it set at the softest setting that it will hold boost and not leak. The reason you cannot maintain higher boost is because the stock turbo is incapable of it.
If you hook up a MBC be careful when turning up the boost. Increase boost slowly or you could seriously damage your motor.
The SAFC will not help you until you install larger fuel injectors at which time it or some other form of fuel management will be necessary.
As suggested, do some reading about recommended upgrade paths and maybe get some help so you don't cause some costly damage.

Just follow the upgrade path, these are proven paths to achieve your goals.

It's what I did. I upgraded everything except the turbo. That little t-25 was pushing pretty hard with upgraded fuel system and a MBC.

Once i had everything I needed in preparation for the new turbo. I slapped on my t3/t4 and I no longer have traction in 2nd gear after installing the FMIC and raising the boost.

Before you go spending money on useless items, read until you no longer feel overwhelemed. Then start purchasing some bolt ons. Use the search button with items you want to learn more about.

Good luck.

If I had to recommend anything it would be to upgrade your Clutch and Flywheel first that way you will actually be able to put the power you are looking for to the wheels. Of course you can never argue with the upgrade path!

Also do a little reading on the forum, your knowledge about your GST Spyder will increase a large amount.

Well the the Evolll16G will help you get to your goal easily as the other members are telling you. I would go step by step and get all the supporting mods first and then in the end upgrade the turbo. Try to juice out as much as you can from the stock turbo. Bigger injectors, Fuel pump, FMIC, gaues, port your exhaust manifold as well the o2 housing. On top of all that I would recommend getting a DSMlink that way you can run the biggest injectors and tunning the car right is key; the DSMlink will help you do that very efficently. As members are saying do follow the upgrade path that this great website has provided and you will good to go.

Now, before you begin to do all the upgrades, a full tune up is very important. Change plugs, wires, coolant flush, engine flush, timing belt if you don't know when it was last changed, change it. If you do have some extra cash, I would change both the coils as well if they are worn down. Keep in mind, you have to keep checking you car from time to time, even if it seems to be running fine. Other enjoy the spyder, I can tell you one thing once you, right I'm starting to do all upgrades, and once the car moves good and you have the top down................it can't better then that!:thumb:

As mentioned, a 190lph pump will be significant for your goals. A 255lph pump WILL require an aftermarket adjustable fuel pressure regulator, regardless what anyone tells you about their car running perfectly without one.

To install a manual boost controller, you'll have a vacuum line from the turbocharger compressor housing or intercooler pipe running to the pressure side of the MBC. This is USUALLY the nipple located directly opposite the adjustment knob. Then you'll have a line running from the signal side of the MBC, USUALLY on the side of the MBC body, that runs directly to the wastegate actuator (the gold can hooked to the turbo).

Read the upgrade path, as suggested before. Also you may want to read a few pages of the VFAQ to become more acquainted with your car before you do anything drastic to it.
