Its been a few weeks ago since my car has a horrible idle. sometimes when i acelerate it ( in neutral) seems like the engine has 1 piston off. but then runs nice and later the idle again.... So i was looking over the engine bay and i found out that my map sensor was broken, i took a look at it an its burned. im sad cus tomorow i should be reciving my dsmlink and i was planing on saturday to visit the dyno. also my pockets are empty

Its late now to call a mitsu parts dealer to ask for price. How much can this sensor cost? and is there a way to eliminate this sensor? what exacly does it do?

I also want to know if the symptoms that my car has are bacuse of this. i dont want to spend a lot of money on a new sesnor and the idle problem its not fixed. If i install DSMlink will it tell if this sensor is bad?

That is actually the MDP (manifold differential pressure) sensor which is a totally different animal than a true MAP sensor.

The purpose of that particular sensor is to check the operation of the EGR valve. With it as destroyed as it is it's probably a big ass boost leak and that's what's causing your issues. Do a boost leak test to confirm and fix it if it is (all of them really).

With DSMLink you can "turn off" the MDP sensor inside the program which is what I did when I replaced the MDP with a MAP sensor to log inside DSMLink (the rear O2 for a WB).

Yes you can read codes with DSMLink.
