Fixing my car in school and 1st & 2nd hour are my auto periods. Brought my car in installed an act 2600 with a street disc, new tranny, and cables. Charged battery and started right up took it for a test drive and drove wonderfully. Parked it outside after 2nd. (periods are 55 minutes) Went to go home after 7th went to start it, it cranked but would not turn over. The battery died. so I brought out the jump pack, nothing. Brought out a big battery charger and still wouldn't turn over.

I don't understand how you were able to install all of that, and take it for a test drive all in less than 2 hours. How cold is it over there?? It would be nice if you could first determine whether it is simply a cold start issue (as stated in the title of your post), or if it is a mechanical problem with your install.

First things first. Check for fuel and spark. You know it was running hours before so somthing in those two areas has messed up. Pull your plugs and inspect them, see if you might have flooded the motor. Did it try and sputter or just crank? How long has your car been at the school?

Try push starting it if you don't think it will be too hard on a brand new clutch. If this works then the problem is more likely to be from the battery or starter. Also double check any switches and sensors you may have disconnected when you dropped the tranny.

This all wasnt in the 2 hours. It was long because I ordred my cables from MachV and they took a month to get here. That day it was pretty cold. I would say maybe mid 20's? its supposed to be 6 on saturday just to give you an idea. But it would only crank for maybe a second and you hear it kinda sputter like it wants to turn over for not even a second and then it goes right back to cranking.

Turning over and cranking are the same thing. If the engine won't run and it does crank/turnover, only when it's cold, it's most likely the coolant temp sensor.

Make sure it's plugged in. If it is plugged in, remove the rubber boot over the connector and make sure the wires didn't break. This is a very common problem with all Dsm's because Mitsubishi made the wires an inch too short.

Just to get this Straight the car will crank and crank sometimes spudder but wont start?
Do the reach around on your ECU and sniff your fingers. But Don't let the ECU see you it might get offended.
