I have a 1998 Eclipse GSX. Ok well, today I finished my Evo 3 16g install. I also installed a walbro 190lph fuel pump and evo 8 injectors. After i installed everything i primed the turbo then started my car and checked for leaks. I also listened for boost leaks. I did not have any leaks at all and i didnt hear any boost leaks. Well i started to drive any everything was fine. As i gain boost my car accels fast then all of a sudden goes slow and then my car jerked very hard. My psi was at 15psi at full throttle and stayed there. I dont understand why my car is doing this. I dont know if this is what fuel cut feels like but i know i have all the fuel mods that i would need to run atleast 20psi.

Anymore info just ask.

I have not adjusted my safc controller yet because i want to research more on how to do that.

I also have:

K&N FIPK w/ 2.5 Injen Intake

Ok first you need to slow down. You're going to blow up your car at the rate you're going.

First. What makes you think you can run 20 psi after dropping in evo 8 injectors and not even tuning it with an SAFC?

Did you perform a real boost leak test? You can't simply listen for boost leaks at idle. Get a source of compressed air and do a real boost leak test.

Run the lowest amount of boost you can right now. Do you have a logger to see how your car is reacting to your mods? Otherwise you're just blindly tuning.

You first need to get your injectors dialed in. Your ecu doesn't know you put higher flowing (evo 8) injectors. It's injecting way more fuel now and you probably have boost leaks. That's why when you "hit 15psi" it feels like you're hitting a wall. You're drowning your motor in fuel.

You have all the right parts (except a logger) but you need to understand how everything works together.

Just like elfroggo said. You need need to tune your S-AFC for the bigger injectors. You are stuttering like that because you are dumping in way too much fuel. You need to get a logger to lean out your injectors some. Even at idle your car is running really rich if you have not made any changes to the afc yet.

First things first. If you dont have a logger I would take out the injectors and put back the stock ones. Once you get a logger, then it would be a good time to reinstall those Evo 8 injectors.

And yes, with Evo8 560cc's you will be able to run 20psi but you need to tune in order to do so.

The logger will tell you if you're in the ballpark of how much fuel your engine needs. Without it how do you know if your tune is good or not?

If you still plan on driving your car right now, then go ahead and swap the injectors until you are ready to tune. Also turn down the boost right now. You also need to do a real boost leak test.

Well if you're going to keep the injectors, get the AFC sort of baselined for them (I started at -20% all around when I installed Evo injectors), and then get and learn to use a logger.

Safer bet is to follow Killa_Dsm's advice and run lowest possible boost while you learn.

Well i just put my stock injectors in and i am running about 11psi. My car is running so much better. First gear feels awesome but in second and third it feels like it doesnt have the same kick. Does anyone have any comments on why second and third dont feel the same?

I am going to start doing some research on loggers. I dont want dsmlink because i dont have the funds to buy a laptop. Does anyone have any advice on a good logger that i wont need a laptop.

Thanks for all of your help. I really appreciate it.

Any logger and a palm will do. A wideband would come in handy as well.
