Are you sure its a cat and not just a really cheap resonator? Even the resonators are going for around 60 bucks, hard to believe you have a high flow and working cat for $30.

Bingo.

I have never purchased a "high flow" cat, but from what I hear, those cheap-o catalytic converters are a joke. Supposedly, with some of them you can see right through, just as if it were a straight pipe. With an OEM cat, you shouldn't be able to do that at all.

Personally, I would buy a cat from Random Technology and call it a day.

But you're looking for the cheapest, so Ebay is basically your only way to go. It definately won't be the most effecient catalytic converter, but it certainly will be one of the cheapest.

I have an ebay cat. It was about $30 without flanges. And yes, it is a legitimate catalytic converter. Honeycombing and all. Ran it open after the cat for a day and could see the ceramic glow bright red after driving.

Just be sure to read the add carefully and look at the pictures.

oh, it was actually a test pipe. I got confused nevermind:coy:

You poor guys in areas that have emissions test!!!

Here in Des Moines we don't have them. I personally feel that the difference between running a high flow cat vs. none at all is minimal. Unless your running 7 sec 1/4's.
