Well, I am about to start doing some automatic transmission upgrades:

TransLab Shift Kit
IPT end clutches
new manual valve
19,000 gvw trans cooler

My question is, is the trans cooler really necessary at this stage? Or should I wait until I upgrade my torque converter? Is the upgraded cooler needed if the only transmission mods are the shift kit, end clutches, and manual valve... Thanks

If your mod list is current, you shouldn't need a cooler, unless you plan on beating your car into the ground.

Even though you don't have your high stall yet, I would still recommend getting it--as it would help lower your transmission temp. down, which means it could increase the longetivity (sp?) of your transmission
