engine knock

when i start my engine it knocks loud ,but after 1-2 minutes its stops and it is perfect.
what could this be?

Search "lifter tick". Our lifters are prone to lifter tick. Usually it happens when its cold and it goes away. This is a sign of lifter tick. Usually doesnt cause any problems just an annoying sound. Its hard to tell exactly what it is without hearing it.

its not a lifter tick , more like a rod knock

Rod knock is really loud, so loud you wouldnt want to keep the motor running usually. To bad we couldnt hear it.

Rod knock doesn't go away either. Have you checked the crank pulley to see if it's separating?

Can a crack in the exhaust manifold make the lifter tick louder?

like i said before its not a lifter tick, its coming from the block, it only does it on cold starts ... im not 100% if its rod knock , but i do know its coming from the block.

My car used to do this as well on cold starts. I ran seafoam and switched to synthetic oil and haven't heard it since.
