Charlottetown,
So I finally pulled my turbo and exhaust manifold off today. I was pulling them to fix a broken manifold stud and while I have the manifold off I looked in the ports at the valves. The tops of the valves all looked slightly blackish except for one which was kinda grey. 2nd cylinder from the timing belt.

I'll pull the plug tomorrow to check it out but what could cause one particular cylinder to run lean? The car runs strong so I dont think its a major issue. Just more for curiosity sake.

clogged injector. uneven port work could also cause lean cylinder.

i would pull all the plugs, and read them comparatively.

Another thing it could be.............valve stem seals starting to go out on the 3 that have the black coating (but it will normally start to coat the wall as well). Do you have puffs of smoke at idle, then go away while moving?

My head was recently freshened up because of the valve stem seals...........1-3 had blown seals, #4 was perfectly fine.

No smoke at all that I can notice. The plugs were all in perfectly normal condition last time I pulled them, its too cold out today to go out there and pull them.. I'll make sure to post picks when I do. Maybe a cleaning and balancing is in order for my injectors, might just be easier to upgrade them though
