...im lookin into the DKS 272/272 for my future setup, does anyone have any input on valves/ valve package for these cams. just the valves, springs, retainers, not the whole head setup.

Those are good cams, have a buddy running them. To be safe a set of crower retainers and springs, pretty cheap on ebay. Stock valves will work, but some Ferrea stainless steal ones that are lighter and less prone to breaking something would be a good idea. Most people will say you can run 272's on stock valve train but ive seen someone personaly through a valve.

yea man, i wasn't going to saty with the stock valvetrain with new cams..espically lobey 272's. FFWD has their stage1 head for $600, do you think im going to be spending around that much on this setup, or should i just stick with buying the valves and cams?

I would get either thier MAD SPRINGS or some BC springs and retainers. Reasonable price and proven to take the lift and rpm's those cams perform best at.

should i go with the 1mm oversized valves or just stock size? how much work would that be?

I would just go with stock. I have had oversized valves and didn't really notice any different in heat dissipation or performance. Your only looking at 4-5% more CFM gain but the added turbulance from the valve's running into each others path will pretty much cancel that out.

I wouldn't bother with the crower springs as they are only a slight increase in spring pressure over stock. I believe the manley springs have the highest spring seat pressure of any single spring valvespring
