Ok before anyone replies to this, do not give me the answer "it's probably your turbo spooling LOL" cause its not.

Anyways, i noticed that when barely even accelerating, even like 5% on the throttle, i can hear a shhhhhhhhh sound coming from the front of the car, possibly even in the dashboard. It is a very soft and descrete sound and have never heard this sound from any car before. It's really hard to describe, it's not like a hissing sound like a turbo spool, but it does sound like air to some extent. When i lay off the gas, the sound is gone, the second that i re-apply the gas, i hear a shhhhhhh. Not really sure what the hell it could be. At first i thought it might be the sound of vacuum. Anyone have a take on this?

Do you have an aftermarket mechanical boost gauge? Is it mounted in the location the sound is coming from? When I first installed by boost gauge, I didn't tighten down the fittings very well and had a similar sound as you describe. Perhaps the line has cracked?

Nah i don't have a boost gauge installed yet.

ever consider it to be driveline noise?
Try changing your tranny and t- case fluids and see if it changes. Also consider your clutch and/or the t-o bearing. I know you say it's an air type sound but between your ears inside the car and the bearings inside the case the sound can easily get muffled to the point it no longer sounds mechanical. Does the sound kinda remind you of dragging a branch under your car?

Here's something to consider:

Park the car, and put it in neutral. Pop the hood and try to listen to hear there is any noiese. Go and push on the throttle and hold it there to see if you can't replicate conditions. And as always, boost leak test! :)

I have the same thing. whenever i come to a stop i hear a eeeeee errrrrrrr eeeeee, and sometimes at part throttle. mostly in the lower gears.

Oh god I hope you're wrong. I just changed my tranny like a week ago. But honestly, I don't think it's the bearings or the drive train itself. The sound never has a higher pitch as i speed up. It's always the same constant sound. And no, i don't think i could describe it as dragging a branch under the car. And to slipstream, i don't see how a boost leak test would be relevant when i'm not even boosting. On another note, the sound is so quiet that i don't hear it at all with music playing even quietly, it has to be pretty much silent in the cabin to hear it at all.

My throttle body gasket was leaking once. It had cracked and at idle, I could hear under the hood and in the cabin a "whooshing/whistling" sound from the area. So I was leaking air (extra air in under vacuum, and extra air out under boost). I couldn't pinpoint the problem though until I did a boost leak test and heard the leaking with the engine off. :thumb:

I also have this weird sound problem. It is very hard to explain but it sounds like a slight whirring noise when you press on the gas. It is noticeable most in like 4th at like 40mph and you floor it, it will make the weird-slightly faint cccchhhhhhhhhhhh and then let off completely and the sound goes away by 90%. If you listen very closely, the sound cycles and changes as you press the gas a little and let off repeatedly-I'm fairly sure it is coming from the clutch/transmission. If anyone knows for sure what this is, please enlighten us!

EGR perhaps

I know it isn't a boost leak. I've tested 4-5 times since i put my intercooler in a couple months back. The sound was there when I had the stock clutch in and was still there after I put my ACT in. I think the tranny could just use a rebuild.

I suppose it could be some kind of an exhaust leak since it increases volume with throttle, but it sounds too much like something is rubbing together very fast but lightly.
