Im currently driving a 95 eagle talon awd 5spd....my uncle has me parting out a 91 talon fwd 5spd turbo. I get first dibs on any parts i want before i sell the rest. what parts would be the best upgrades and the most efficent for my time in the 2g to 1g swap for parts for my gains in power???? I'm looking for sure to swap the throttle body, elbow, and intake manifold. Any other suggestions???

don't use the tb elbow from the 1g, your 2g elbow is way bigger but I guarantee you'd notice that when you would go to swap it.

Do you consider pulling the motor a possibility? Not only would you want the 6 bolt but the head is way better too.

FYI I would not recommend using the 1g im unless you use the 1g head or port yours since the runners on the manifold will be bigger than the ports on your head and the air will run into a wall around the edges basically.

if i use the tb but not the elbow do i need to make any modifications to my 2g tb elbow??? I did some more researching last night and i decided not to use the manifold or the 1g head it seems that it would be cheaper and less time consuming to just use my 2g head and manifold and jus get them ported. So I will be selling the head and other parts im mainly keeping the tb and bov. thanks for the suggestion bout the bov. any other suggestions for parts i should use???

If you're gonna keep your 2G's head, swap for the 1G's camshafts. But then again you could just install the 1G's head and intake manifold and not need to worry about porting the 2G's. If you're gonna grab the 14B does it have any shaft play? Unless you're gonna get it rebuilt anyways... But that would probably cost the same as a brand new bolt-on T28... :thumb:

so I checked out the turbo there isnt any shaft play but what will I benefit by running the
1g turbo over the 2g turbo???

hell ya.

2g t25= waste of time
1g 14b= :thumb:

you will need an install kit for it though. I dont know if you can just pull the lines off the donar car (oil and coolent lines).

Use the 14b Turbo which is ~10 to 15% more CFM from the 14b over the T25. Purchase a new oil feed line and a J-Pipe. Follow this 16G install:
http://www.vfaq.com/mods/2G-16G-2.html

Check the motor and compression. If it is a 6-bolt then consider taking the motor and head. Have it disassembled and have a machine shop machine the 1G rods to accept a 2G piston. Reassemble the engine. Get a new Mitsu 4 layer Head Gasket. Remove the balance shaft (silent shaft). Replace the water pump and all timing pulleys and belt. Basically the 60k maintenance defined here on Vfaq (verify the parts list):
http://www.vfaq.com/mods/timingbelt-2G.html
http://www.vfaq.com/mods/Tbelt-checklist-pre.html

Take your 2G exhaust manifold and 2G O2 housing and put that on your newly rebuilt (1G) motor. Use the 1G intake manifold and Throttle body. Use the 2G throttle body elbow.

Use your 2G injectors. ... follow the magnus instructions:
http://www.magnusmotorsports.com/tech/1gina2g.pdf

Install a new clutch and check the 1G flyweel since you have the opportunity with the motor out of the car and the tranny seperated Use your 2G transmission. Consider a ACT 2100 or Centerforce Dual Friction. If you are going from a 1G AWD to a 2G FWD, replace the 1G AWD flywheel with a 6-bolt (1G) FWD flywheel.... else just inspect the 1G AWD flywheel and have resurfaced if need be.

Rewire your 2G fuel pump:

If using the 1g cams in the 2g head...what all do i need to do or is it plug and play??? any articles that anyone could link me too would be appreciated.

So Im following some install tips from race engineering on installing some 1g parts. Im not looking to do major mods to any of the 1g parts but so far I've found to use the 1g throttle body, 14b turbo, and 1g bov. Doe's anyone have any other suggestions???? Reason being is I'm parting out a 91 talon tsi fwd 5spd and im looking to use some parts but im selling the head and tranny plus any other parts anyone wants.

Can you pm me when you part it. I am in need of some 6bolt parts, thx :thumb:

I'm sure you mean Road Race Engineering, but just in case: http://roadraceengineering.com/2gtbswap.htm

Swapping the 1g cams is a direct swap. But you can't do that unless you know engines pretty well because you have to mess with the timing belt.

Well I Ended up selling the entire motor to a 2g owner looking to do the 6bolt swap. But I still have the rest of the car and drivetrain left to part out so im jus lookin to find some people to buy the rest of the parts.
