need help with install

I've looked all over and searched the forums, I have a PLX 500 but no clue how to install it. need some help.

Are you planning on replacing your stock O2 sensor and emulating it? Either way its all pretty simple. Just a power and ground. If you want to emulate your stock sensor than go to vfaq.com and look up the wire for the front O2 sensor. Cut the wire and hook up the output wire from the PLX500 to the ECU O2 sensor input. I have the same setup on my 92 with an AEM UEGO.

ok thanks, but what about the other features lik edatalogging are they useless on the dsm. btw the PLX R-500 as its proper name is a wideband/datalogging computer used to tune your car to almost the level that dyno tunning can provide.

No...plx interfaces with pocketlogger software....and the best thing to do is to replace the stock o2 and run the narrow band simulation wire from the unit to the o2 wire @ the ecu...i wouldnt cut the wire because you might want to take the wideband off one day, just strip back the insulation and tie into it and your good to go...really its cake

It says the plx r-500 can store up to 90min of logging, I know it has software too but I was told and read that you can hook it up to it afterwards to read it, and you dont have to have the software logging it th PLX device does. I could be wrong though this will be my first time using one. the biggest help right now would be what wire goes where on my ecu. I know about the wideband sensor, but the PLX R-500 can read so much more, timming, fuel, air, knock, etc.

Well reading through the directions you have 2 oscliating sensors and 4 analog sensors you can record. Oscliating, called speed sensors,would include RPM, MAF, Knock count(I think this is where knock would fall). The 4 analog inputs can be a number of things. Analogs can be things like TPS, MAP,O2, IAT, etc. Pick the ones you want. The go to the vfaq.com website and find the article with pictures of the ECU connectors. Find the input to the ECU for each of the sensors you want to datalogger and connect the corresponding channel wire from the PLX to that sensor signal wire. You will the have to do some tinkering with the logging software to get it to display correctly. Good luck,
