Alright, i had new capacitors put onto my ecu. THe electronic guy told me that they were leaking. He said he put a larger capacitor on that will be better. He said it would be ok. Anyway, there was leakage on the solenoid. SHould i replace it? Anyway, as of right now in New Jersey we're experiencing terrible rain. I'm pretty sure that rain would not contribute to this problem. I think it seems as though i still have the same problem. SHould i try again with new capacitors? should i change the solenoid? SHould i just suck it up buy a new "used" ecu? I really thought i had the problem solved but i guess its just my luck. I know this is like beating a stick over a dead horse but i need some guidance. I don't know if i should attempt a new capacitor change or just get a new board. As for the problem. It is the consistent clicking noise that is known as the ecu "reseting" i believe. It started again but im just trying to be precationary. I just dont want it to die like it did before. SHould i take the ecu out and talk to the fellow who replaced the capacitors and see what he put in? Thanks Please let me know
Andrew

A capacitor change is pretty easy for someone whos soldered before. I don't know what he meant by larger capacitors, I hope they were more heat resistant, so they don't melt again.
You should describe your problem in detail, it may not even be your ECU.
But, pull your ECU out and check the capacitors, and the components, check for anything leaking, burnt/discolored. Also, check over his work and see if he did a decent job.
What are you referring to solenoid?

i fixed it, im sorry that i keep asking the same problem. Ive been looking at used ecus. I guess thats my best bet. If anyone in NNJ wants to let me borrow the ecu and let me test it i guess that it will be my best bet..
thanks

Well this problem REALLY seems to come back and haunt me when its moist/rainy out?? its really a mind boggling thing. I am between a rock and a hard place. I don't have much money. My mechanic said he changed the relay. And now when i asked another mechanic said it is a fuel relay problem. I'm really not sure if it's an electrical demon or just my ecu?!?!?!? I really need some opinions. It really seems as though im beating this topic. BUt i made the mistake of not having another DD, so when this car clicks and doesnt run im out of a vehicle. thanks

Im thinking that the gentleman you had replace the caps put in the wrong size/voltage etc cap. Im not real big on how they work or what they are rated at, but this could be your problem. There was nothing wrong with the caps that were in the ecu to begin with other than they were the cheap option, and they tend to leak over time. Mitsu did this to save money. Contact 'steve" on here, he does excellent ecu repair work and most likely could point you in the right direction.

well, i'm going to give the cap change another shot.... THe thing is, that in the back of my mind i keep wondering if there is an electrical demon living inside my car.... thanks
