My check engine light's been on ever since I installed my new catback. This is a 95 Talon ESi by the way. Been about 2 months since I put my exhaust on, car runs just fine, the light just annoys me and I'd rather fix the problem. Check this out and let me know what you think:
My printout of the OBDII code:
Vehicle Scanned Global OBDII
DTC (Codes)
P0141
O2 Sensor Heater
Circuit Malfunction
(Bank 1 Sensor 2)
I'm pretty sure that's saying my rear O2 sensor is dead, malfunctioning, something. I started out looking for new O2 sensors to replace it with, and found a universal one my friend would sell me. I've also read about how to wire up an O2 eliminator and trick the system. But I was also informed of an O2 simulator I could buy that kind of does the same thing, but still uses the O2 sensor and so I looked into it more. Here's the link to this company's website. The only thing keeping me from giving it a shot is that my code printout mentions a heater malfunction, and this O2 simulator doesn't affect the heater wires, so I don't know if it will help me or not. What do you think? Does this code mean something is wrong with the heater wires, a blown fuse, etc? Do you think this simulator would fix my problem, if not would wiring in a new universal O2 sensor fix it, and if that wouldn't what do I have to do to fix whatever this is?
Thanks a lot,
Chris
