About 2 months ago i was driving and noticed my cars tachometer jumping around read bad. Going to 7k RPM then back to 0 and jumping around in between alot. Car would miss like crazy, backfire, run on 3 cylinders most the time. Couldnt figure out what was wrong, then took it to a garage and he said it was a blown ignition coil and the ignition module was bad. So he fixed it and it ran fine and has been running fine. Cost me 519.00 to fix the bi*** but at least its fixed.
But now i was driving down the interstate and was gettin with it pretty good and missed a shift and the car rev'd high (nothing abnormal sounding) and the tachometer starts jumping around again. I pull over and shut the car off and it wont crank back up. It thru the CEL on, so only thing i could do was tow it. Get it back home and reset the computer to clear the codes and the car cranks up. But the tach is jumping around and doing everything like it was when i blew a coil and messed the ignition up.
Basically i was just wondering if anyone elses ignitions go out alot or is it just mine? Should i buy an MSD or so name brand that is better then stock? Ive not taken it to the garage yet so it might not be the ignition but its doing the same shit. I know the battery has a bad cell or soemthing because it wont hold charge, ive done replaced it and it still does the same thing? Put new plugs in it (NGK BPR6EKN, i think thats the code) and nothing has changed.
ALL help appreciated, Dustin
