Hey guys so I have two questions. One is, if properly tuned and with all the supporting mods can a stock 4g63 handle a 60 trim at 22psi??? The other questions is what supporting mods will I need to run 22psi with a 60 trim. Current mods are as follows:

Fuel:
Walbro 255
MAFT
Apexi SAFC
660 injectors
Datalogger

Turbo:
ported 60 trim
full 3-in exhaust
ported 2g exhaust manifold
40mm external wastegate
manual boost controller

Ignition:
10mm wires

Intake:
big front mount
turbosx bov
ic pipping
intake

Drivetrain:
Stock 6-bolt 4-bolt
stock tranny
act 1500

What else would I need for 22psi. Any advise will be appreciated.
 
i would look at a fidanza flywheel, cometic headgasket, arp head studs, im not entirely sure that your 660's will keep up to the snail @22 psi, so maybe dsm link and some 1000cc's?? pretty sure i just scrambled off 3 grand worth of parts, soooo there are definetly a few places u might look at in your setup, def get the hg and arp studs before u try anything over 20 psi.
 
You need bigger injectors, and fuel management. For fuel management, you can either get a chip burned from dsmchips.com or invest in DSMlink. The idea is to have bigger injectors with lower IDCs instead of smaller injectors with maxed out IDCs. Don't forget that if you get the chip burned, you can have fuel maps for the A/F ratio that you want to run.

For an AWD with that big of a turbo, 2600 or bigger.


EDIT: You also need an AFPR with that 255.
 
Currently I am looking to buy an afpr so that is deffenetly on the list. Will a safc along with a maft not be enough to tune it. Will I really need to upgrade to a dsmlink or similar?
 
No you do not NEEEEEED to get dsmlink but with big injectors and turbo it is very hard to get a good tune. Lots of people tune with an afc or similar but i will tell you from experience that dsmlink is 600 bucks VERY VERY well spent. I LOVE IT. Just did a 6 bolt swap in 1 day and it fired up first try...didnt throw any codes and idles perfect right off the bat with 880cc injectors. Try doing that with an afc or maft.
Dont forget you get launch control...no lift to shift, adjustable idle/rev limit, DTC checks, full datalogging and countless other goodies with dsmlink that you dont get with air flow controllers.

The problem with using SAFC and MAFT to tune is the injector size. Sure you can tune 660cc injectors with an SAFC, but it won't be anywhere close to what that 60trim needs (unless you plan on running low boost). When you go with 850cc injectors, the SAFC makes your car run away from stock fuel maps and inreturn you get lots of timing and knock.

The only way to fix this is 1) DSMLink or 2) DSMchips (Stage III) - which comes with injector compensation. The chip is $125 + a logger, link is ~$600 and you need a laptop. Many features that are on DSMlink can be found on the chip, but you can change parameters on link right on the laptop, but if you need to change something on the chip you need to send it back and pay $20.
