For $1200 you would be better off just building you own. If they used a cheap, non oem t-belt then it's pretty safe to say the internals are probobly not too high quality either.

In all the cases I've encountered w/ them, the only probablem, 1 person had was a leaking gasket. It comes with a 6month warranty(and you can purchase extended)."They have never had this engine come back to them." I have a rundown somewhere of all the parts the used. Karking is actually pretty reputable, and has been a member of the BBB for over 10years and around for nearly 20..
And, for 1200 dollars, It's going to cost you almost that much for you to get the crankshaft and all internals to make your block a 6bolt. Me, my crankshaft was chewed down because I had rod knock for over 30k miles. And it was a 7 bolt..
Just because it isn't OEM doesnt mean it isnt any good.. I wonder how many non OEM parts you have on your car? Hell it's all made in japan whats the difference! haha. But they do use OEM oil pump, I remember from our conversations.
You could always grab a junkyard motor and rebuild it, costing you slightly less then karking.. But not everyone has the time and skills to do this. I need my DD immediately and work 50+hours a week.

On another note, I actually just bought the exact same engine from them a couple days ago, should be arriving soon, and from all of my research it should be great! Good luck!

I agree...I would rather just buy a used motor off a running 1g turbo dsm...this way you know it works and everything on it is Mitsu OEM parts. I am talking on experience because i have bought these kinds of motors sold as "jdm" but in reality they are only rebuilt engine with crappy internals. i blew the last two motors i bought from companies like that one because some of them sell non-turbo motors as if they were turbo. The 2 motors i blew were non-turbo....on thing was that they didn't have oil squirters and the second thing was that the oil pans didn't have the hole for the oil return line (although the company said that they just bolt on any random oil pan they have in stock).

The first swap I did was on my 97 GST and I have to say that it was a pain in the butt. Now I think its not that bad...so if you are going to try it, let me just tell you to be patient with the whole process because if you get frustrated too easily, you will regret this whole swap.
