Alright I have done the bcs free mod and I was wondering if the upper port on that had to be hooked up to the intake port, Mine isnt and there is nothing pluggin either what should I do? Im a newb by the way

well first check and see if you have a mbc (manual boost controller) you can do this by fallowing the vacum line comming of the wastgate actuator. let me know were it goes and we will work from there

LOL im not that new, yes i have a mbc installed no, i was just wondering if the upper port on the bcs not being plugged or plugged into the intake will hurt my performance?

If you have an MBC installed, why did you do the BCS free mod? There shouldn't be any hoses hooked up to the BCS with an MBC installed. You can cap off all the nipples on the BCS module, as well as the port on the intake. Leave the BCS electrical connector plugged into the unit to avoid a CEL, since the ECU likes to see that it's still there, even if it's not controlling anything.

Out of morbid curiosity, what kind of MBC do you have and how is it currently hooked up?

Edit: Just noticed you have a Hallman. Also, one more question: Are you recirculating your BOV?

ok I have those parts and but i havent installed them yet (waiting for boost gauge its on its way) I am gonna hook the MBC to the compressor housing and wastegate actuator. and im waiting for the recirc for my bov to get here also. so does that help you to answer my question even though it will be pointless after like friday?

Ahh... I see.

Awesome. :thumb:

and im waiting for the recirc for my bov to get here also.

For now, just keep the hoses like they were stock. It's been a while since I've had my BCS hooked up, but if I remember right, leaving the intake hose off the BCS may result in a boost leak. Once you get the MBC on, cap off the nipples like I mentioned before and call it a day.

The BCS is a boost leak. It's bleeding "counted" air, at least with the stock MAS. If you you don't return the bled air to the intake after the MAF, it will affect performance the same way a small boost leak would.

That was always my reasoning behind why the designers included that intake line, but I've actually never heard another person mention it as such. Thanks for confirming it for me. :)
