eprom ecu problem again???

Ok. now I have a 1.8 non-turbo eprom ecu + a stage 2 chip, I went to hook it up and the car does try to spin over but doesn't start so, I put the original ecu back in and the car starts right up. Is there anyway that I can check the eprom ecu to make sure everything is ok with it???

They have non turbo eprom ecu's? Wasnt aware of that one, are you sure this is the right ecu for your car? Kinda sounds like that could be the problem to me, and what stage 2 chip are you using? Are you positive you dont have a 4g63t ecu?


Theres a few pages floating around telling what ecu's came out of what cars, and what years and all that, I'll try to find that for you before work in 2 HOURS! haha .

yes, I'm sure it's for a 4g63 before, I sent a 4g63t ecu back and got the non-turbo eprom ecu and the company said it was a special order and the stage 2 chip was got from dsmchips.com



When I opened it up it had the same numbers on it that my original ecu has??? Could a wrong chip be the problem??

It's the right ecu # 159561E and I contacted the guy that sold me the chip if it was from a1.8 non-turbo and he said yes but, now that tha I have it, he said it was from a 2.0 dohc turbo. Does anyone know wher I can get a 1.8 non-turbo chip???
