Idle Problem (stutter, stutter, STALL!)

Hi guys, I've looked all over this site, vfaqs, and dsmtalk and still haven't found the answer to my problem. Heck, my mechanic doesn't even know! My car idles down when I stop and eventually dies when the engine is warm. It doesn't do it if I haven't driven it all day. I know I have a front exhaust leak, but I don't know if this has anything to do with it. We have adjusted the BISS, nothing. Checked for vaccuum leaks, nothing. Does anybody have any idea what this can be?

I had the same problem with my Ranger PU, I know, different car, but hear me out. It was the fuel injectors, they would not function properly when hot, but ran fine when cold. I suggest you pull the plugs and check for discoloration, if the motor is starving for fuel the plugs will look white, I think, ask your mechanic. Any way, used injectors are cheap, and DSM's are certainly plentiful in junk yards. Good luck.

ISC could be completely dead. If all 6 soleniods in it are shot, then chances are...thats your problem...did you test the ISC yet?

ummm i had this problem yesterday.. i blew my dump tube off.. check that its the tube that comes out of the bov and in to the intake

We're checking the ISC and the fuel injection on Sunday. We're thinking it's the fuel injection because we put in a new fuel filter last week and that seemed to help. I'll keep you posted on what happens. Thanks for the help.

check your plugs too. mine would do a similar thing and i pulled the plugs to find out that one was cracked in a bad way...

Ok so far we just put fuel injection cleaner in it and that helped in a big way. It hasn't stalled since then though it has stutterd. Next: Check plugs and ISC
