Please excuse the newbie question. I've been trying to figure out what offset wheels I should get for my car. I attached a pic of what the current wheel/tire set up looks like on my car. These are the wheels that came with the car and they bulge out and look terrible I think. I have no idea what offset they are, just that they are 225/50/16's.

I'd like to run 225/50/16 tires on a 16x7" wheel. I want a set of Rota Slipstreams and they come in 40mm or 45mm offset. Which one should I pick? Would I notice that big of a difference going 40mm rather then 45mm? I just don't want to get a set with 40mm offset and realize they stick out like my old tires did. Thanks.

I have 17x7.5 rota sub zeros with a +45 offset and they fit in the wheel wells. Seems as if the front sticks out a little bit but Im not really concerned with it.

Smaller offset just means you can run a wider tire without rubbing. Who cares if they stick out? :D

Depends on what you are concerned about rubbing. Push those rims and tires to the outsided with a low offset number and you will be having fender issues.

Stock offset is 46mm with a 6" or 6.5" wide rim Typically with a 7" wide rim and 225mm or 235mm rubber you want the offset to be about 42mm. Shouldn't rub inside or outside. I wouldn't doubt that the rims you have pictured are pretty close to a 40mm offset as it is. If you want to pull a rim they are usually stamped on the inside somewhere with their offset.

Thanks alot for the all the help guys. Also for the pics too 92awddsm.

I took a look at things today and i found the specs on the wheel. It's 16x7.5 with a 35 offset! That's why it looked so bad. I guess i'll just stick with the 16x7.0 and a 40 offset.

i actually have some wide off set rims on mine, i forgot the numbers for them but ill post them soon. I think the poping out tire effect gives it an aggresive stance with the stock ride hight that is.
