SAFC install on 2g

i searched and found some how to's.. to wire the safc on a 2g but i don't really understand their instructions.. and on vfaq they have 2 of them.. which one is correct?? one only wires 5 wires the other wires 7.. don't know which to follow.. can anybody post a good link on how to wire a safc on a 2g... thanks

hope this diagram helps you if you have any questions let me know.

the grounding requires the use of the brown and black wires with the brown one being closer to the ecu. the air flow sensors are the orange and pink. the wire you put it on is sperated and the pink goes to the half closer to the ecu and the orange goes to the farther half. everything else is pretty straight forward. look at the ecu diagrams as if they were facing you.

by the way the link above has some misleading info. it says to use the white and yellow wires for air flow but its the pink and orange.
also when you go to set up your car settings make sure you have it on karman air flow and the car type is 4 cylinders and the arrow is pointing in the up direction (technically northeast)

All you need are the ECU pinouts of the 2g:

Find the appropriate wire to tap into from the AFC.

I am trying to hook up mt safc. What wires do i use for the air flow/pressure singal. I have read both ways: use the white and yellow wires and use the pink and orange?

You use the pink and orange wires to tap into the ecu, not the white and yellow. I just hooked mine up last week and it works great. Follow the picture up above for which wire goes closer to the ecu.

HI I kinda need to know if the pinout is the same for the 420a 1997 eagle talon. I have a Apexi- SAFC 2 and larger injectors " 270cc" that I am about to install. They arent that much bigger that the OEM ones ( 190cc I think) I will correct the fuel pressure manually by the FMU but the thing reallreally still needs to be tuned. Does anyone have info on how to install on a 420a?

Your best bet would be to post this question in the 420A section. Most 420A guys ditch the SAFC because it is of no use to them. You have a lot of reading/searching ahead of you.

I've never seen a 420a guy use an afcII. I have a friend with a quick 420a T using an afc1.

i'm confused..i got a 96 talon tsi awd also and i have an safc 1. how do i install it? i tried reading the other posts above and i got no clue. i am a little new so please help thanks

THESE are the only 2 diagrams anybody should need to install the safc in their 2g dsm. If you follow apexi's website and go to their support section, you can view the entire instruction manual and wiring diagrams for ANY car.
