I have been using B+G Synchroshift since I bought my car and have been very happy with it.
Taken away the grinding and sloppiness

You can use GM Synchromesh fluid in the tranny & T-case. I have been using it for years with positive results, reduced notchy shifting. You can pick it up at any GM dealership. Its the same thing as BG fluids.

Recommended Transaxle Fluids?
What fluids do you recommend for the manual transmission, transfer case, and differential?

I used GM synchromesh for the tranny and transfer case, and the tranny shifted like butta. I recommend redline for the diff, with the same weight as manufacturers recommendations.

Changing Drivetrain fluids
Hi,
I have decided to change my transmission (5-speed) fluid, transfer case fluid, and read diff fluid soon.
To change the the transmission fluid, I park the car on a level surface, drain the fluid with the plug on the bottom of the trans, put drain plug back, open the fill plug, use a funnel with 1/2" O.D. plastic house to fill and fill until it starts to leak out, put fill plug back on.
I searched to find out how to do it for the transfer case and the rear diff, but I could not find anything on how to do it. How would you do it, like where are the plugs located and such, and deos anyone know the torque for these plugs, or is it just as tigh as I can get them.
Thanks a lot,
Bill

Hi,
Thanks a lot. that is what I am looking for. Just a couple more questions, when I tighten the plugs back up, do I just make them as tight as I can, or is their a certain torque for each of them. Also when I refill the transfer case fluid do I drop it off the jacks to refill it or do I just refill it with the car up on the jacks. Anyway thanks for the great link, really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Bill

You should be level to refill it, but it really isn't crucial. A small bit of under/overfill won't matter. Tighten the plugs like someone else will have to remove them again with normal hand tools. Don't go wild.

Thanks a lot. So when I am doing the transfer case I jack it up drain it, and then lower it back down to fill it. How would I put the the fill plug back in, from the picture on the link above it looks like it is behind and under the oil pan. How would I get to it?
Thanks a lot,
Bill

If you jack it up from the front, the fluid will flow away from the filler hole.

Tranny, Transfer Case, and Rear Diff Fluids
Hi,
I am going to be upgrading my clutch to a ACT 2600, and during the install you have to drain the tranny fluid, so since I have been wanting to change all my fluids I figured I would od them all. I did some research and I am stuck on a couple of choices:
Tranny: 3 quarts of GM Synchroshift or Redline MT90
Transfer Case: 1 quart of Redline MT90
Rear Diff: 1 quart of Amsoil SAE 75W90 or Redline 75W90
I know they are all great products but I am not sure which would be best.
Thanks a lot,
Bill

I used the GM synchromesh in transfer and transmission, and then used a Mobil 1 Synthetic it the rear-end.

Get Pennzoil Synchromesh instead of GM. Same part, 3/4 (or less) cost.

use REDLINE 75W90W for tranny and xfer case.
Rear end takes 90W I think, Check your owners manual , it says in the back.
