96 Eagle Talon TSI AWD Turbo 90,xxx miles on body

Is this someone on here, or does anyone know history on this car?
Excuse me in advance if this is not appropriate (place or against rules) or something, I am new in the sense I just started posting. :thumb:
Looking to take my first stab at AWD turbo world, and this looks like a clean one. So, if you dont know whos it is... opinions?
 
Not a bad looking car if it runs well, but it's modded quite a bit which might be good or might be bad. You never know what kind of hackjobs people do, but from the description it sounds like it was well taken care of.

And btw the car doesn't look familiar, and I'm on tuners quite a bit.
 
Would it be acceptable to offer 6000? I know prices between forums and craigslist are usually different (forums=lower), but 7000 for a JDM engine and stock turbo sounds too much, even though he has supporting mods for a 16G it looks like.
 
And he said, "Newer tranny" What does that mean exactly? Rebuilt or new to him or what? The fact that he has a jdm engine looks good to him because he probably has a lot of money in the car since he did an engine swap.

Won't hurt to ask him if he'll take $6000, it's pretty hard to sell a car these days. And yes he def. has the supporting mods for a 16g, which is what he probably had on there but decided to put the t-25 back on and sell the turbo itself or keep it. 650 injectors might be a little bit of a pain to tune with an safc also, but it's not impossible.

What i would like to do is run it as a mild tuned car, so the 14B or whatever is stock is okay with me. I would probably switch to 550/580s and go with DSMlink (v3? LITE! :thumb:) for future upgrades.
I just got done driving a POS GSX... guy listed it for 7000, BOV sounds like shit, body colors dont match, its been in an accident, clutch and throttle pedals both stick. You think you would mention those things in your craigslist ad before someone drives an hour to see it. /end.rant

The stock 2g turbo is a t-25, which is much smaller than a 14b and will leave you wanting more, much more. A 14b would be ok but a 16g is probably what you want, I prefer the small 16g due to the faster spool time and the fact that it only flows 2lbs less than the big 16g (4lbs less than the evo3 16g)

If you're getting link you can just keep the 650s, it won't have any problem at all tuning them.
