pushing some coolant!!!help

I have a issue going on right now with me and i need help. I have about a half a bottle of coolant overflowing into my overflow bottle but absolutely no bubbling and car will see temp of 223 and 226, if i dont keep my heat on it will see these temps regularly. its only bad on a hot day also. But if i have my heat on and turn the ac fan on it will only have temps of 210 213. Im trying to not ride around wit the heat on in the summer time any more, my radiator is not in the best condition and i am going to switch to a 180 thermostat. But i wanna get opinions on if its a head gasket or a heater core problem since keepin the heat on keeps it from gettin hott, just trying to save myself some money. also could a damaged radiator cause this problem as well mine is not in good shape by its looks alone.

No bubbling
no coolant in oil
coolant overflow bottle might have a leak in it itself
no external leak

If your pushing coolant than the head needs to come off and the hg replaced. Have the head checked and put some arp head studs in . If your radiator is crappy go ahead and replace it with a nice aluminum one. Your car will thank you for it.

Please don't just jump to it being the head gasket. You need to check your entire cooling system from a leak down test to checking the thermostat works and that your fans are turning on. Since you have a Fmic you could be having flow issues also. I recommend getting a new oem radiator and keep the stock fans in place. The coolant in the overflow is most likely because you are running hot. After the car cools it should return to the engine. Do these tests first.

Ok ill do the test i mean a have a mls headgasket and arp headstuds and the car never seen over 20psi on a 16g see the problem is that its not returning to the engine. Why is that? i dont have the correct hose the goes from the thermostat housing to the overflow bottle and its tighten down by a zip tie could that be a problem if if was leakin or suckin up air? and also my fans work as well it only gets hott when it low on coolant which i just pour back from the over flow into the thermostat housing.

And when you say flow issues you talking about how the front mount blocks the radiator from getting air as well be i didnt have this problem when i drove my car without a bumper for like 6-8months.

Did you have the head and block decked flat before installation?

As to why the coolant isn’t returning, it could be an issue with the hose, just make sure it’s tight and is below the thermostat housing. I would also check the radiator cap and if it’s not oem I would get a new one. Do a leak down test, if all is well, run the car with the cap off and the heater blowing and get all the air out of the system. But your main issue is that fmic blocking your incoming air. There are a few threads on here about ducting so I would try looking around for what works best. What I did was seal the radiator to the condenser using high heat foam, then modified the stock ducting to seal to my fmic. Enlarging the front air intake will also help.

Spend $6 on a new radiator cap and see what happens.

I'm having this same problem, hopefully your solution will be able to help me out. Do you feel the top tube getting hot while the bottom hose for the coolant still stays cold?
