hi!:D so my motor spun a rod bearing a month or two ago and i just decided to replace the entire bottom end of the motor. these are the parts i am currently purchasing
6 bolt block pre machined
New CRI 6 Bolt Turbo Crankshaft
All New Bearings ACL/Clevite
New NPR 2G 8.5 Pistons
New NPR Rings
New NPR 2G (Large Diameter) Wrist Pins
New Set of Frankenstein Connecting Rods
New ARP Rod Bolts
New OEM Main Bolts
New OEM Freeze Plugs
Pistons and Rods Assembled - Ready for Build
i am hoping to do this all at once and not wait on one part while the motor sits
is there anything else i will need? i know i still have to buy a headgasket and head studs but what else will i need? the motor in the car only has 27k on it so the majority of the parts are almost brand new. thanks guys!

Nice. I'll be going with the frankenstein setup too. Make sure you do the balance shaft delete too. Any head work planned?

i'll proboly resurface it if that's what you mean. it's already got 264/272 cams 3g lifters titanium retainers and oversized springs

sounds like a decent list of parts. but if i could make a reccomendation, get better rings. if you dont want to atleast be real carefull when installing the pistons ### the upper and lower oil scraper rings are extremely fragile. personally i'd go with hastings or even better mitsu rings. just a thought

i'll look into that. thanks a ton for the input. this is my first motor rebuild so any tips are more than welcome.

Got a quick question for you guys. I spun a bearing and am getting the motor remachined. I'm replacing the stuff that needs to be replaced and lifters as well. Should I get a new oil pump? The current one only has 27k on it. Thanks for the quick reply :thumb:

If it is all in spec and no damage then there wouldn't be a reason to get a new one but piece of mind never hurt anyone :thumb:

Agreed . and when you pull it apart check for galling and metal shavings. then make sure it's in spec. if it is then you can put some assembly lube in the pump and install it.

That oil pump is full of bearing material that will damage your new bearings. If not a new one, at least tear that one apart and clean, and inspect it. You also will need to take the head apart and clean it. Ditching the oil cooler from the spun bearing engine is also a must. The turbo probably has metal stuck in the oil passages.

Hey, my car spun a bearing and I'm in the process of getting the motor re machined and am replacing lifters and such. My current oil pump has 27k on it and I was wondering if it would be necessary to replace the oil pump as well. Thanks.:D

I would and I wouldnt. Depends on how it looked and what the engine looked like. If it has 27k on it and you matianced it good. Then dont buy one.

Consider getting a Forced Performance inline oil filter as well unless you want to rebuild/replace your turbo. You will have shavings in your oil system that will make it past the oil filter. I've blown 2 turbos due to oil contamination from my past motor rebuild until I got the inline filter and caught some nice pieces in it.
