Ok so i recently bought a 98 gst and on the way home with the car the seal behind the oil filter housing came out and dumped all the oil out. Well needless to say i got it started and its knocking so time for a rebuild. Ive been researching for days now and have a few questions first of all lets address the balance shaft should i go ahead and elimanate it or keep it ive been seeing several differant elimanat kits. second of all theres a guy in my area that is selling a 6bolt fully built motor and tranny and fp turbo set up with it for 2000 is this a good deal? Not sure what alls needed to swap from the 7bolt to the 6bolt. I pretty new to the dsm world. My other car is a 95 dodge neon with a fully built and turbo 2.0 sohc wanting to build this gst seeing as its a better plateform to work with.
that way you free up a few horses. do you know if you spun a bearing or is the ticking noise coming from the head?
