Is there anyone close to Madison, IN? I have a 95 GST with a 92 6bolt and 93 head. it won't start and i have no idea where to start on trying to figure it out. I got the car the why it is. It has a lot of mods. it turns over and trys to start but won't. I was going to put a fuel pump rewire on it but it's all ready got 1. I did check the voltage with the key on at the relay and I think its bad. I'll replace it tomorrow if that doesn't do it i'm stuck. Any help will be appreciated thank you.
 
Dude, take a deep breath and step back a bit... There are steps to figuring out why the car isn't wanting to kick on, it just takes time and alittle patients. The good news is that if you decide to tackle this problem on your own instead of throwing money at somebody to fix it for you you'll have learned something about your car along the way. :thumb:

First Step
Since you got the car like this and don't know much about its previous history I'd give it a quick visual check for disconnected wire plugs/sensors/etc. and see if anything looks suspicious.

Second Step
Check to make sure its been timed correctly. Use this link to the write up, in Step 1. of the write up the plug in the lower timing shield is behind the driverside tire so you've gotta get the car up off its wheels.

Third Step
Check for spark. Pull one spark plug out at a time, then re-insert it into its respective spark plug wire. Then while a buddy/girlfriend/wife/dog cranks the car for you ground the electrode (tip of the spark plug) to your valve cover and watch for spark. Don't hold your hood, car, or anything else metal or else your going to shock yourself just hold the plug and thats it! Do each cylinder one at a time and write down your results.

Fourth Step
Check for fuel pressure. Typically I'd say get a fuel pressure gauge but that costs money and you can see if your getting fuel to the rail for free, which is in everyones budget. Pull the fuel feed line off the fuel rail, its on the passenger side and has (2) 10mm bolts holding it in place. Then get a big cup, I use a biggie size drink cup from Taco Bell or McDonalds since your going to throw it away, and hold the fuel line in the cup. Then again go grab your wife/buddy/girlfriend/cat and have the crank the car, watch for fuel pumping up the line and into the cup. CAUTION: Its going to fill up fast if its working so tell the person or animal cranking the car over that the second you scream "STOP!" they stop.

The above should pretty much give you an idea of why your car isn't starting. Write down EVERYTHING you find from the above steps and report back up here with the results and we'll go from there. It could be something fairly simple or there might be a few more steps to figure out why its not starting, odds are its not getting fuel or spark though.

Thanks for the info. I'll check for spark in the morning. The reason I think its at the pump is when you turn the key you can't hear the whine of the pump so I checked for voltage at the relay on it has power on one side but not the side going out to the plug on the pump.
I hope thats the problem but we'll see. If it doesn't I'll be back on here again.

While I'm at it do you or anyone know how to use a Greddy PROfec e-01 controller with a Greddy E-manage?
