Hello fellow DSM Tuners!

It has been 4 months since my last confession, I mean post......

I wanted to post in the last Slowboy thread, but it always seems someone has to end it before I can get a few words in. I am not going to stand here in front of the list, and tell you we are all perfect, that would be crazy. Let me tell you a little about Slowboy Racing Inc., and our progression through 2003, if you feel like a little reading...

Until January of 2003, Slowboy Racing was a three person operation. SBR consisted of myself, my wonderful wife, and Dan R. who was doing our website. Yes, I had one or two part time guys helping me port turbo's, ship products, etc... however, for the previous two years it was only myself and my wife. We worked out of a small machine shop, and a garage here in Indiana Pa. Things were pretty simple, I had a lot of loyal customers, and I enjoyed getting my hands dirty on a daily basis.

My wife and I agreed it was time to bring on our first full time employee in February of 2003, it happened to be Dan Reighard. Dan had spent the previous 6 months working on our website as he had time around his position at the Trib in Pittsburgh Pa. Dan brought some much needed help, as I would typically not even have time to get the phone during the day. I would typically make my return calls, etc in the evening. It was March 2003 that things changed.......

Fast forward to the first week of January 2004. Slowboy Racing Inc. now has nine full time employees. To say things have changed around here would be a gross understatement. To assume we had a few tough spots along the way would also be an understatement. To assume we tried our best through 2003, of course we did! We happen to have 1600 new customers that would agree. ( Which explains why a few people did not get Holiday cards, we only ordered 1500... sorry! )We have went from working in 1000 SQ. ft facility, to having a fantastic 2000 sq. ft showroom along with a new 4000 sq. ft installation facility.

In closing, to those of you who have had a bad experience with us, I apologize.... For those of you who know there is always two sides to every story...... I applaud you, and thank you for your continued support. We look forward to serving you in 2004!

Regards

Mike Huml

I had great service from you guys, it too a week or so for you to ship since I ordered so many misc parts (were not all in stock), but once you got it you shipped it asap and the parts are perfect.

Mike, glad you and the crew are still doing good. I keep forgetting to send you an email thanking you guys for the xmas card.

Keep up the good work and growth at the shop

Todd

Good to hear you guys are doing so well. I for one have been very pleased with my purchases from you guys.

Oh and I can't wait to get the SBR-GT30R :D

I try to bring you guys business as often as my wallet allows! I should be in sometime soon for the 1g fuel rail.

I'am glad to see nothing but great replies regarding Slowboy's operations. I look forward to ordering a block and head from them this next month. They are highly knowledgable. I learned more from the 10 minute phone call I had with mike, then with all the other company's I have contacted all together. They are worth my time, a real positive R.O.I. Once again thanks for the support and future business.

I'd say thanks, but I got no F'ing Christmas card

Well, not that I care anyway. I have gotten good service from you in the past, so I will give you a thanks.

EVERYONE has bad times, even more so for a new business. Make mistakes, fix them and grow even more. One of the best ways to learn is from your mistakes.

Mike,

I've known you for a few years now. Ever since I meet you in altoona when you were in your '91 awd and that black worked on 5.0 mustang was giving you crap at the BP gas station. We must have talked for hours that night. It was mostly your influence that I bought my eclipse. I know I don't buy many parts, but I always try to buy them from you to help you out. This was especially true when you were first starting out. I've always tried to push DSM and Honda customers your way because I knew that you'd take care of them. Things are tough when your a small buisness and it grows faster than you expect. My current job is like that, our company is growing faster than we can manage, but we are improoving.

I've known mike for something like 4 years know and I've known his brother Nick for even longer. He will do his best to take care of you.

Nothing but good to say about Mike and the SBR team. The best costumer service I have ever had... hands down!

I agree. I give a big thumbs up to the crew at SBR. I have never had any issues when ordering anything from them, and everyone there is helpful, and down to earth. On another note, I got my xmas card, and if you ask me, I thought that was extremely cool and classy of them to actually sit there and send out 1500 cards. I know I'll be back. Keep it up guys!!

My experince at SBR did not go as well as I planned, but we both made mistakes. In the end, I agreed to order from them again and try to do make things more simplfied. My experince was not good nor bad (save on intrestion email). But I did promise my buisness to them for my next mod (port work). Basically I gave us a fresh start to see how things work on next time. I did find the X-mas card, very up lifting and thoughtful. Thanks for that.

Well....we'll see what happens.

now he is competition so i'll keep it short;)

Being a new company there are lumps you hit along the way and leave it to a shop like SBR to lend a helping hand and expertise to help resolve that matter. Jesse, Dan, Nate and Mike have always been great and i appreciatte the help.

And i did get a card. On behalf of The Speed Factor crew, thank you and best of luck in '04.

you guys seem like you are doing a great job, I actually was at the shop yesterday with some friends who made rather large orders and met you guys. You were all very friendly and willing to help with any questions we may have had.
