I pretty sure I am not the only one with these question. But when It comes to fuel there so many brands and levels that makes hard for one to chose. I know we suppose to use 91 octane and higher. But what about the brand? Chevron, Shell, Texaco, Am/pm,etc. Which one is better? There are all the same octane levels. Or are they? Prices differ so much that some times I feel like going to the cheapest one and fill up my tank with 91 octane. And what about all of those octane boosters they sell on the auto parts? Do they even work? I am really sorry if it sounds newbie but I just would like to hear what every one has to say. Thank You.

P.S. Moderators please feel free to move if its on the wrong forum.

My dad worked for a couple different service station for years, he said the same guys brought the gas to both stations, it was virtualy the same brand. The only real problem is if the station don't do a large volume of buisness, then the gas sits in the ground tanks longer and water forms, and other trash. My dad once used octane booster in a chevy 4.3 and several miles later the head gasket blew. Not sure if there was a connection, but I don't use it. I only use the good stuff, 93 pure.

shell v power gas with techtron its supposed to be cleaner fuel ive never noticed any difference with octane booster

why is it supposed to be cleaner fuel. dont all gas companies buy from one major supplier.

No not all gas companies buy from the same supplier...And to answer Lamda not all gases are created equal. I have worked for Chevron(refinery) and they add certain agents to the gas, as do all refinery's...So saying all gas stations sell the same gas is just wrong...:thumb::D:cool:
