For the past 3 years or so we've tightened up on the rule enforcement of the Hangout to try and make it a quality place to participate. I'm thinking we can loosen it up a little bit now and let a few more things go. From now on we will only lock the threads that result in all out flame wars, and no other reason. We will delete posts within threads that contain offensive material (politics, religion, nudity, racism, street racing, etc) but will leave the thread open unless the original post contains that material. All tech threads and classifieds threads will be moved or removed. As long as you don't post insults or act as a troll, you'll be fine here in the Hangout.

We will no longer close threads based on subject matter unless it's blatantly offensive. We hope you all will use common sense and will respect our request of being respectful to other members.

Have fun!

Keep in mind that what we consider acceptable in the Hangout is not necessarily acceptable in our Tech Forums. If we find people are acting like fools/asses in our Tech Forums now that we've loosened up our rules in the Hangout, we'll adopt a no-tolerance policy and will start banning people without warning. The Hangout is a place to let loose and have fun. We expect a much higher standard in our Tech sections. Don't forget that.

I've noticed a few threads in the past week that contain some posts which toe the line of acceptable/unacceptable behavior here in the Hangout. Please make sure you read what I said in the above post. We will let everyone have fun in this forum, but we will demand that you show a certain level of respect for all other members while doing so.

No trolling. No insults or personal attacks. No flame wars. No offensive material. If you cannot follow those simple requests, you will be asked to leave (or banned). And again, if we find that some of the questionable attitudes that are being displayed here in the Hangout are spilling over into our Tech forums, we will start banning people without hesitation.
