DSM Thief in Omaha

My DSM got ripped off in Council Bluffs, Iowa, right across the border from Omaha.
Right in the parking lot of the Marriot!
Sumbitch smashed in the passenger side window, stole all the suitcases, camera gear, Scanmaster, and was in the process of taking out the Apexi when somebody spotted him.
He drives a late model Monte Carlo -- gray or black & white. It was night, and the witness wasn't sure.

If any of you folks in the Council Bluffs/Omaha area hear of someone trying to sell:

Scanmaster
EGT gauge
Nikon camera
Helmets

for a 90 Eclipse GSX

Please let me know.

He is either a DSMer or knows our cars, because he was going for the good stuff, and knew how to get it out.

Hey i live in Council Bluffs and i'll keep a watch out for your stuff as a matter of fact ill talk to some people tonight. I have a good feeling about who did this, same kid that ripped off my friend. f###in bastard hes goin to get it big time <--- when i find out it's him.

What hotel? and what location? and when did this happen?

p.s. was it in the lake manawa area?? and when were talkin late model was it like 90's style or later box type?? (80's or something older) sorry i dont know montys.

I dunno about the Monte Carlo, ### I never saw it. Guests at the hotel reported it. Shoot, it might not have been a Monte Carlo for all I know. Two kids, a white girl driving, is all we heard.

well man i didnt hear anything from the local thief.... i think it was a random thing but maybe not i'll pm ya if i hear anything.

i never would have thought that dsmers went out to MAM i thought the ricers just went out there on saturdays, i didnt think they really hosted anything big out there.

We go to MAM to go road racing 3-4 times a year.

If it makes you feel any better, somebody broke into my car this weekend too. But I just got a shattered window out of the deal. They couldn't get my cd player out.

That does not make me feel any better.

If it's any consolation, a used replacement side window is about $60 at the junkyard, and it is very easy to put in. Don't even call your insurance company.

I've lived in Columbus, Ohio, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia and never had a problem with thieves until I moved to Iowa. When we first moved here 16 years ago, the saying was, "30 below in the winter tends to keep the riff-raff away," but that is no longer true. We need to start cutting off the right hand of thieves, like they do in the Middle East.

I'm hoping to fix it soon. The only problem is, I'm 3 hours from home (at college) and I don't know where any of the junkyards are around here. Good luck with the situation though Rich.
