I have been looking into getting JIC SF-1's, but I wondering if anyone has had any experience with these. I have thought about the FLT-A2's but I don't know if I want to try to set them up myself. Would the SF-1's be somewhat close to the Tein SS but with upper mounts? Or would I just be better off going with the FLT-2's?

Thanks
Mike

Yeah, they're pretty much like SS's but with upper plates, etc.

What kind of driving, and what kind of performance are you looking for?

If all you want is decent, better than AGX/Koni's with *some* adjustabilty, I'd say go for it.

If you want more than that and hardcore setup, go FLTA2

We carry Tein, and our customers have had great luck with it. JICs are good as well.

Tein SS's do come with upper pillow ball mounts, however. Not to mention you can use Tein EDFC which is _awesome_.

I wouldn't go that far.

It's a cute toy, yes, but something that's worth over 300 bucks?

No.

No.

For someone who drives his car on the street, picks up his mother, and goes racing and doesn't want to manually adjust the suspension each time will love the EDFC. Few clicks, and it goes from soft to race.

Is it necessary? No. Is it nice? Yes.

I am basically looking for something for mainly street, but maybe ocassionally some auto-x or drag. I had skunks, and they were the worst thing I ever owned. I now have tokico and h&r springs and I really don't like how low the car is. I think I am going to have to go with the SF-1's.

Thanks for the replies,
Mike

What options do you guys recommend for a 1G... Was looking at getting a Tein setup but it is not available yet for 1G's. My car will be 85% track (time trials, Autoxing and occasional drag strip) and 15% cruising on high boost for fun... so in other words comfort is not my concern... I just want Handling.

Tein says you can't use the EDFC w/ the SS kit...did you hear differently? That would rock.

JIC FLT A2 (or RS editions).

Tein's offerings for DSM's is too entry level for my tastes.

If you really want to go all out, consider a custom Ohlins/Penske/Bilstein setup.

I've seen JIC FLTA2's go as low as 1530 now a days that they're being imported regularly.

A custom setup will be minimal initial outlay of 2-3k+++, nevermind the proper setup times/fabrication costs... I've never priced out a system personally, as the highest grade I'd ever go on a street vehicle would be the FLT-A2 systems. If you're truly serious about road racing your DSM, I suggest contacting a road racing chassis fabrication shop and talking to them.

Tein will soon have a kit for the 1G - within a few weeks. I talked to them at SEMA. The guy who is doing the development owns a 1G. I'd wait for them to come out before you buy something else.

I think you mean the Tein Flex. Not the Tein Super Street. Correct my if I'm wrong, which I could be, considering you're a vendor... I'm just going by what the Tein website says...

ok...so this turned into another Tien vs. JIC...haha

I would personally go with the FLT-A2's they are not hard to set up and give that much more adjustablity...plus if you wanted, you could have a shop set them up for you relitively cheap...probably like 200-350...which isn't that bad. Considering that its is an awesome set-up that will handle incredibly.

Can u use the Tein EDFC on the JIC FLTA2's? I heard on an Evo forum that someone is doing it? Have the JIC FLTA2's on order and will have a shop hook me up. Too much adjustability for a SMP like me! Let the pros handle it!:dsm:
