act xact flywheel vs rre lightened stock flywheel.

so far ive gained that act is lighter, and rre i have to take the chance of my core being damaged and having to pay almost as much as the act. are there any other opinions people have from 1st hand expeirence.

IMO, just get the new flywheel

Lightened flywheels are iffy because they shave some of the material off to make it lighter. I always question in the back of my mind if the overall integrity of the flywheel will remain intact when the "weight reduction" is complete.

I had to make this decision a few years back, and I just decided to get teh Fidenza Flywheel. I've been happy with that decision :)

Be a trailblazer, try the ACT and let us know how it is :)

I would take the ACT over any lightened flywheel anyway.

I am REALLY leery of shaved flywheels...

Lightened stock flywheels have been used for years in cars that have a shitload more torque and horsepower than most DSM's dream about.

It's a matter of who's doing it. If it's some jerk-ass from NAPA doing it, well, then he'll probably take too much off.

If it's done by someone who knows what they're doing, and it's well balanced, there won't be any problems with one.

act Ownz

was already stepped for install with a 2600 clutch

above second gear your downclutching abilities have to increase because you spool down allot faster and you have to give it more gas while taking off because the lightened flywheel doesnt have that stock intertia therefore you need to give it more power.

We have had nothing but good luck selling the ACT flywheels. Awesome finish, great price, and light!

We definately recommend the ACT.

And the ACT flywheel is SFI certified. The RRE is not. Anyone hear about an RRE lightened flywheel exploding before? It seems like the ones that blow up are ones that have improperly lightened.

Maybe I'll go with the ACT when I change clutches again...

I was running a stock flywheel, and it exploded cause of a miss shift at a high rpm not cause it was weak.
