Tire size opintions

Here is the deal. I have a set of 17x6" rims that need tires. I also plan on buying a set of 17x7.5" rims in the spring.

I have found that a set of 215/45/17's will suite the 17x6" rims nicely but I am unsure how they will be on the 17x7.5"'s Is there a size that will be ok for both? I like the tread width to be about even with the rim lip. I hate it when too wide of a tire is put on as well as too narrow of a tire.

My original tires are 205/55/16's with the 215/45/17 the speedo reads pretty damn close to what it should be.

I guess I could always make the 17x6" rims wider... perhaps I should look into that!

17x6...that sux...yeh I think the max width tire for those would be 215. And that is the minimum width for 7.5" I think. I run 245s on my 17x8s and I can fit 255s on them.

Yeah, the rim width is a little narrow. They are the OEM 17" Talon wheels though.. which are 6" wide correct?

Damn, and here I go thinking 245s couldn't fit, so I went with 215s on my 17x8s.

Stock 17 inchers are all 6.5". 215 is the max you ever want to go on either of them.
