widest rim for 96 talon

jus wonderin whats the widest rim you can put on a 96 talon tsi awd, right now i have 17 x 7 and it jus doesent look wide enough, thanks

I believe an 8inch rim is the widest w/o rubbing.

You can't answer that without knowing an offset. I know I can run 17x10's if I have a+12mm offset and it won't rub. And speaking of that, are you talking about the rim rubbing or the tire? Again you can't say for certain a wheel/tire combo will rub until you know the rim offset and width, and the tire size.

For instance I run 235/40/17 tires on 17x7.5 +35mm offset rims. No rubbing. When racing I run 245/45/16 tires on 16x8 +32 offset rims. No rubbing except on the fender inner lip at full bump.
