Rebuild kits for calipers?

I've had 2 piston calipers sitting in my garage for a couple months now waiting to go on my 91. I've been lagging because I want to rebuild them but haven't looked into parts yet. Where should I look? Dealer? Parts store? How much should it run and will I need any specialty tools to do it?

I just want new seals, etc - just to make sure they're like new.

My recommendation: go to the dealer.


The repair kit from the dealer is far more complete that one you might get from a discount house. A factory kit includes the little boots that protect the sliding pins, lubricant, all retainers, etc. In addition, the rubber parts are usually sealed better, which means you will get rubber parts that are in better shape.

Any luck with the re-pack kit? I got a kit for mine. I went to advance auto. I am sure autozone has them also. You may have to order it but I am sure it is cheaper than the dealer.

It is an easy process to. What I did was hook an air blower into is and the pistons will blow right out. Hope this helps.
