Here is my situation condensed. Recently bought my car from a friend, who had major brake work done. The mechanics who did this brake work were apparently less than qualified, because they put the wrong caliper on my car, which is now in the process of slowly destroying my rotor. I went to the brake shop that discovered the problem and was told that if I get the caliper from the dealership, I have to get the whole assembly and that would be in the neighborhood of 125-175 dollars. The manager, being in my opinion, very cool, suggested that I go to a U-Wrench-It and pull a caliper off of a DSM in the bone yard. I went and got 2 calipers (to be safe) from 2 separate 1990 Plymouth Lasers which look almost identical to my car. I called up another associate and told him of my problem, and am now being told that 1990 brakes are different from 1992 and I could not use the two parts that I spent today getting. Could someone please advise if this can in fact be used or not. I could like a second, third, and fourth opinion before I just go shell out the dealership money. Thank you for any and all replies.
