Its aluminum....
I read about these things one time. It seems like the major thing is the brackets that bolt onto the car. If they are cheap and flembsy, made of aluminum then they will FLEX instead of doing any kind of bracing.

I guess some brace is better than none.
But the best bars are usually the ones with 3 mounting points....

You have the bar going side to side, then an additional mount that connects at the firewall, kind of like a triangle shape.

If you look at the high dollar strut bars, like maybe Mugen(i know this is dsm not honda) and what not, they have THICK bars connecting things together.

Also the new lancer Evo Viii has the triangle style upper strut bar also.
