need tire info asap

I am confused, i see everywhere people with low profile tires. everywhere i go, the shops tell me i need plus 1 size, blablabla. i was thinking of putting in 225/40/17 tires, but now i am confused. what is the norm people? like i don't really speed past 100 mph. its to unsafe. but at the same time, i dont want a tire that will fly off on me. would be thankful for some input. i've search but didnt find anything on it.

235/45/17 is what i got and there about perfect, as far as a speed rating
H-Z i guess, but i dont think anywhere sells tires that aren't good to at least 100 mph anymore. tirerack.com sells cheap tires that are pretty
good. I got some kuhmos off there for like $80 a tire, and they are working great.

i have seen kumho's in action. My friend burned is to the ground and they held thier shape for a week before he had them replaced. THey also worked very well in the twisties. i would recomend them too.
