Just curious, what are coilover for? Are they better quality ride? Are they designed to go lower and such?

Thanks :dsm:

They give adjustability whereas springs don't. You can raise or lower your car as you please w/coilovers. Its all in whether you want adjustablility in ride height or not.

There NOT just for lowering your car.

TRUE coilovers are for tuning the suspention. You can control cornering weight distribution by adjusting the height on each corner.

Yeah, but MOST people don't have 1500 bucks to drop on a suspension setup. I assumed he was asking about the 'fake' coilovers. They work just fine. And you don't have to lower your car on coilovers like Scott said, but most people do.

I bought my Tein flex coilovers because the Tokico kit I got was a 1.75" drop and they weren't adjustable. I bought new rims 18x8.5 and they won't fit with my car so low so I had to go with the coilover and it's now dropped 1.3".

Just because you have GCs (or whatever else) doesn't mean you can't take advantage of being able to properly setup the corner weights. That is what coilovers were designed.
