Rear differential lash adjustement

I just installed my new Excedy stage 2 clutch and the "thump" when I shift is much more noticeable. The drive shaft carrier bearings are already filled with silicone as per the VFAQ article. I have checked the lash on the differential by turning the drive shaft and measuring the play. I know that the limit of the rotational play is 5mm but I found that mine is 8mm. I am suspecting that the thump is due to excessive lash of the differential gear and would like to know how to adjust it. Does it uses shims? If so where can I find them?
I searched quite a lot but could not find any how to article on this subject.

Following this. I'm having simialar thumps from mine. I actually was thinking about this yesterday.

Don't our cars have a crush sleeve in the rear end? I know my jeep had one. If so I'm curious as to what the required torque lbs of it is.

I am also thinking that it may be time to change the motor mounts; at least the 2 sides and the front one. I am thinking of using Prothane inserts but from the reviews they are very hard and transmit vibrations. I was also thinking about using Window weld to fill all the mounts and see if it will help before buying new motor mounts.
