ebay slotted rotors

I don't know I believe ebay brakes are pretty much hit and miss. I went factory big brake upgrade on my 90 Talon with ebay rotors. Had them for a year, had some pretty hard stops on them and never had an issue. They were a HUGE difference in braking too. Think it was around $130 Shipped for the rotors and ceramic pads.

I'd do it again. But may splurge and get the Brembo rotors next time.

I've always thought to myself brakes are brakes, but the more I think about "ebay" brakes, the more I think to myself, that ebay doesn't manufacture them. Some parts manufacturer does. I'm going to buy a seemingly decent front and back set of rotors from amazon. But if you can get em from your local parts store, why not right?

A quick Google search will show lots of bad experiences with ebay rotors exploding on several different brand of cars.

If these are as up to par as most Ebay "quality" parts, then I would hold off and get some good quality rotors. NAPA has a line of slotted rotors. I believe they would be cheaper over say...Brembo.

Tire Rack would be my next suggestion. They carry a few different brands.

I'd stay away from Ebay as a whole though.

I had a set of ebay rotors with EBC green pads. They lasted about 6k miles. Cracks along most of the drill holes. I did abuse the hell of them. Multiple 130mph stops. If you just drive the car like a normal person you wont have any problems.

Brakemotive is the seller you guys should use. They are the same thing as power stop.

I currently have front eBay slotted and drilled rotors with roughly 8k miles which will be getting replaced shortly. I'll update when I upgrade to see the condition of them.
They do rust pretty damn bad really quickly tho.

I have had my ebay slotted and drilled rotors for about a year now. Got them when I did my 2 piston caliper upgrade. They came with a set of ceramic pads too. Zero issues and they are even still silver in color. Pads give off minimal dust to my surprise.. Its my DD so I drive the car everyday. I paid like 225 shipped for everything.

I don't drive like a maniac though....

I tried a curve slotted set from Advance Brake Parts on Ebay with good results so far. Car brakes evenly on normal driving and shines on quick or hard stops. I also used BrakeLabs for my other car and they are just starting to show breakdown after 2-3 years of 15k-20k miles at year of driving.

Why would anyone want to risk their brakes failing with cheap ebay shit parts? Get good quality parts and have piece of mind that your rotors wont explode.

I have a set of BrakeLabs pads/rotors, and they are great!! The only bad thing though is they do rust quick, but if you daily your car, that's no big issues. No cracks, or war-page yet, and I daily drive my car.

I've never seen or personally experianced a brake rotor exploding.

If you somehow manage to get a rotor to glaze and become glowing red for an extended amount of time, then that is obviously abusing the damn thing. (Assuming, this is not a professional doing it at a track, in a professional track car)

If it explodes under normal driving conditions, which like Leon mentioned, I have never heard of or seen. Then yes, sue those mo'fos!

I had one.I should have kept it.I never seen it before either.

And I didn't get any pics:(.

I'm gonna have to look deeper. I wanna see a brake rotor explode.. just not on my car

They work fine, I have them. They do rust quick if you don't drive on them, even with a zinc coating. I have about 10,000 miles on them, no problems thus far. I even have a early 95 with the vented rotors and they had to customize some for me, since the vented ones do not exist anymore. I'm not really easy on the brakes all the time either, I have done two hardcore road rallies both over 300 miles each. If you decide to get them make sure you lube them up good with brake part grease. Hope this helps. Good luck.
