Fitting the jackstand under a lowered car??

Hey-

I installed my coilovers and my shocks (thanks to the FAQ... I love that site). I lowered the car, but can't lower it past an inch because when I lower the jack my car will rest on the jack and bend my kit or just disable me from getting the jack out. I really want to lower my car more, but I don't want to buy a really expensive thin jack... is there any quick solution to this problem? Please tell me if there is. Thanks

-Tim

PS - If somebody knows of where I can get a thin jack for relatively an inexpensive price... I would really like know.

Did you try using the factory emergency jack? That thing will go pretty low. Just lower the jack you're using as low as possable and use the factory one to get it the rest of the way. If you're car is lower than the factory jack its probably too low and you will just have problems. Hope this works for ya.

I will try that stuff... good call on the wood blocks

I am gonna go see if the factory jack fits under it right now...

Thanks for the fast response!

Hey-

I am pretty stupid, the stock jackstand totally fits under the car... I just didn't think it would fit for some reason? I am dumb as I said before...

Thanks

-Tim

No disagreement about your stupidity here...:thumb: J/K

Hey check these out...these are cool but I dont know anyone that has them. They are made for lowered cars...might be handy. Importfan.com sells them for $57.00

I think I might just order a set because I hate using the stock jack.
Huge pain in the ass..although I did figure out that a 3/4 socket will fit the end of the jack and you can use an air ratchet to crank it up or down quickly, instead of getting a sore arm.

I had problems getting a jack under my car too, I had to use the stock one, twist it enough by hand(no clearance to use the rod either) so the REAL jack could fit under, then proceed to jack it up.
