Just ordered some Enkei RPF1's 17x8. I have a few days to decide on tires before they get mounted. Size will be 225/45/17, and it will be a street tire non-drag radial. My choice as of now is the Kumho MX (summer tire). Quite a few DSMers are in the 10's pulling consistent 1.6's on these tires. But I recently read some reviews about them being total crap and unstable in sub 45* weather. If true, this won't work. I like to drive my car in the winter on occaission on clear days. Ideally I'd like a tire that's good for dragging and street use all year around in dry conditions.
Snow and ice isn't a concern as I won't be driving in those conditions. My only concern really is how much performance and stability/safety do I stand to lose in colder conditions with a summer tire vs. an all season tire. My summer tires now seem fine in the winter.
A few DSMers are pulling good times and 60 footers on Kumho Ecsta ASX's (all seasons), so I thought about those.
Or should I just stick with my original choice of Kumho MX?
Any suggestions?
